Chemical properties
Needle crystals. The temperature of 198-200 ° C (decomposition), soluble in DMF, pyridine, soluble in acetone, ethanol, slightly soluble in methanol, insoluble in chloroform, benzene, ether. Its sodium salt ([27164-46-1]) is a white or yellowish powder. Hard to dissolve in methanol, ethanol, insoluble in acetone, chloroform. It is stable when dry and the stability of the aqueous solution is poor.
Use
Semi-synthetic broad spectrum cephalosporin. Antibacterial mechanism, antibacterial spectrum and indications are similar to cefotaxime. Gram-negative bacteria are weaker than the latter. However, Gram-negative bacteria are much stronger than the latter, especially for K. pneumoniae, stronger against Escherichia coli than cefotaxime, and second only to penicillin and superior to other antibiotics. The serum protein binding rate is 74-86%. It has a high concentration in tissues such as liver, kidney, heart, spleen, lung, and muscle. For the above-mentioned organ-sensitive bacteria infection. Especially for some serious infections. Clinical treatment of respiratory and urinary tract infections is effective.
