Chemical properties
Colorless flammable liquid. Has a pleasant butyl odor. Soluble in water, ethanol, ether, oil and a variety of organic solvents.
Use
1. Used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, varnish, printing ink, oil, resin, etc.
2. Mainly used as solvent, used in coatings, dyes, resins, etc., also used as an intermediate for plasticizers and as a diluent for hydraulic brake fluids, and also used to produce piperonyl butoxides. The product has an oral LD50 of 6560 mg/kg.
